VSTEP Writing Task 2 là gì?

On the one hand, social media has greatly improved communication by allowing people to stay connected regardless of geographical distance. Individuals can easily keep in touch with friends and family through platforms such as Facebook or Instagram. Moreover, social media serves as a powerful tool for spreading information and raising awareness about important global issues. For instance, campaigns related to environmental protection or public health can quickly reach a large audience, encouraging collective action.

On the other hand, excessive use of social media can have harmful effects on individuals’ mental health. Many users tend to compare themselves with others online, which may lead to feelings of inadequacy, anxiety, or even depression. In addition, the widespread dissemination of misinformation is another serious concern. False information can spread rapidly on social media, potentially causing confusion and negative consequences in society. Furthermore, overreliance on virtual communication may weaken face-to-face interactions, reducing the quality of personal relationships.

In my opinion, although social media brings undeniable advantages, its negative impacts cannot be ignored. It is essential for users to adopt a balanced approach by limiting screen time and being more critical of the information they consume. By doing so, people can maximize the benefits of social media while minimizing its potential risks.

In conclusion, social media has transformed the way people communicate and access information. Despite its advantages in enhancing connectivity and awareness, it also poses challenges related to mental health and misinformation. Therefore, responsible use of social media is key to ensuring its positive impact on society.
