My situation is that a stranger has accidentally transferred money to my bank account. There are three options: keeping the money, going to the bank, or reporting the situation to the police.

Among the three options, I think going to the bank is the best choice because of some reasons. The first reason is that it is legal and responsible. For example, the bank can verify the transaction and return the money to the right person. The second reason is that it avoids future legal trouble. For instance, keeping the money might cause problems if the owner reports it. Finally, it is the most practical solution. To be specific, bank staff can handle the situation professionally.

I don’t think that keeping the money is suitable because it is dishonest and could be illegal. For instance, the original owner may need the money urgently.

Although reporting the situation to the police is a responsible choice, I don’t choose it. Simply because it may take more time than going directly to the bank. To illustrate, the bank can solve the problem faster.

To sum up, if I were in this situation, I would choose going to the bank for the reasons I have mentioned.
